The Room in the Rodings is the perfect place for your special celebration or event. With plenty of inside space, a seating capacity for 100 and up to 150 for a buffet or party, plus gorgeous outside areas, The Room in the Rodings offers a wonderful location for any type of function.
A modern and large inside space with a dancefloor area at one end and a cosy lounge area at the other, offers a versatile location for a party, event or other function. The outdoor areas include a large field and an attractive decked courtyard with tables, chairs and parasols for use in fine weather. The field area provides a great space for inflatables and other outdoor activities.
Our attractive pergola has beautiful views over the Essex countryside, providing a striking backdrop for photographs - and a memorable spot for catching up with family and friends.
You may provide your own wine and soft drinks for the day, and the venue provides a fully licensed staffed bar for the evening, or we can provide a bar for the whole day, if preferred.
The Room in the Rodings allows you to bring in any supplier of your choice, including caterers, and will be happy to suggest local suppliers for every aspect of your function.

Catering & Drinks
Unlike many event venues, we don’t charge corkage on drinks that you decide to provide for your celebration. We’re very happy to run a bar for the duration of your event, however, if you want to source your own bubbles for speeches and wine for the tables, we won’t charge you extra.
Not only that, we also offer the ultimate in flexibility when it comes to catering. You won’t be limited to a selection of our own choosing - you can bring in any supplier, including caterer, that you please. If you need a little help with finding the perfect companies for your day, don’t worry, we have a list of regularly used, local suppliers to help.
We provide a fully staffed and licensed bar for drinks for the evening, or all day, if required.
